New Boat for JM and Liquid!

New boat has arrived. Looks heavy.

New boat has arrived. Looks heavy.

After trying to get John’s old boat fixed and finding it difficult to source parts, etc. John and Chris decided to pull the trigger on a brand new boat. The new boat is made by the “Rubber Duck Inflatables” company and is both longer and wider than the old boat.

This 15′ 6″ inflatable is the companies feature work / dive boat. Constructed from heavy duty PVC with an aluminum floor, it promises to make search and survey a little more comfortable.

The boat arrived Monday morning after a 5 day trip across Canada from BC. Chris picked it up fomr the Day and Ross warehouse and John brought the trailer down on Tuesday evening. Since the new boat is longer and wider, the trailer required modifications to the loading rails. 4-5 hours of fitting out later and John pulled out of the driveway with a brand new boat secured to a rebuilt trailer.

This week the boat will be paired with its 40hp marriner engine and then off for in water trials. We will post some photos and a write up of the next dives we do from the new boat!

Inflation has begun!
